In an social experiment carried out in the Experience Design Lab of the Telefónica District, a group of teenagers were challenged to carry out some exercises on AI in order to find out their perspective on this technology and the use that they make of it. Some of the exercises consisted of distinguishing between AI-generated and real faces, solving problems with Chat GPT or detecting an AI filter in a video call with an expert.
The results obtained show some patterns that could suggest the tendency to humanize AI by adolescents, a difference between the perceived benefits and the unfounded fears, or difficulties in distinguishing real and AI-generated images as well as problems to use the Chat GPT tool correctly. During the experiment, the adolescents modified their vision of AI due to the experience they acquired in the different exercises with it.
