SYMBIOTIK Project: Visualization systems to facilitate decision making.

Information overload is a common problem for users operating complex information visualization systems. This often leads to increased difficulty in analysis, conclusion drawing and decision making by the operators.

The SYMBIOTIK project seeks to articulate an interactive dialogue between the human operator and information visualization systems to support decision-making processes. Inspired by human cognitive processes and using Artificial Intelligence, SYMBIOTIK proposes a novel framework in which human and machine cooperate towards a common goal and evolve together. This framework will allow us to design more sophisticated, efficient, and human-centered intelligent information visualization systems.

The project involves partners such as the University of Luxemburg (as project coordinator), the Catholic University of Leuven (Belgium) and AEGIS IT Research GmbH (Germany). This project is supported by the European Innovation Council (Horizon Europe – the Framework Programme for Research and Innovation) through the Pathfinder program, “Awareness Inside” call.
